Nikon F5 with 4 Year Expired Velvia 100 Slide Film...

I recently found some expired slide film in the freezer at the photo store I work at. It was expired for almost 4 years. I shot the two rolls during the storm on the 10th of February. Our lab does not do any E6 processing anymore, so it had to be sent off. About a week later I got the rolls back and I was surprised. The film actually came out! I really, really like this film excellent colors, depth, grain, and tonal range! Way better than my digital, but it was much more expensive. Here are the results I got. Keep in mind this was my first time shooting slide film.

Thanks.

Its pretty self-explanatory. A lightning bolt strikes a tower! I have also included a 100% crop for viewing.

Thanks.

A Start of the New Season...

We had some unseasonal weather these past few days. It looks like the early weather models are suggesting this is the start of the new storm season! Here are some of today's captures.

Thanks.

4 Image 10mm Supercell Panoramic!!!

This was taken this afternoon as a massive storm system made its way through Texoma. This is taken in Iowa Park, TX. It is a composite of 4 images taken with my Nikon D50 DSLR and my Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 ultra wideangle lens. This cell was a beast!

A Black Crowned Night Heron, A Tripod, and a Long Exposure...

This guy was sitting on the side of the lake when I drove up and saw him. At an ISO of 800 my camera was reading it at 1/50th, too slow hand held. So I got out my gimball head and tried an exposure. It looked ok, a little flat, but a good record/identification shot nonetheless. I was able to get closer and the bird did not move. Now I had him filled in the frame just the way I wanted and I was able to do something more artistic. So I punched in a +1.0 ev and closed down my lens to f/11. The shot was good, but the birds eyes were dark. So i went back to the car got my flash and took another exposure, this was the result.
